Chelsea have completed the signing of Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven on a seven and a half year deal which is thought to cost around £35million. There is also an option to extend the deal for an extra year. The 20-year-old winger has become the Blues’ sixth signing of the January transfer window.
Madueke, who left Tottenham in 2018 to sign for PSV, follows the arrivals of David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk this month as Graham Potter looks to further implement his ideas in west London. The England youth international has featured nine times for the Dutch side this season, directly contributing towards two goals.
Chelsea Chairman Todd Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali said: “We’re delighted to bring Noni to Chelsea.
“He’s an exciting talent who has proven his quality over the past few years with PSV, playing in a strong European league, and we are thrilled he has chosen to join Chelsea for this next stage of his career. We are sure he will form an important part of our team.”
Upon the signing, Madueke said in a video promotion: “I like to get the ball and be exciting, take players on, beat players, create a lot and score. Best league in the world, best team, best players. I’m absolutely buzzing to be a Blue.
“To return to England and play in the Premier League is a dream for me and my family and I can’t wait to get started. I am excited for what the future holds, the owner’s vision for the future and to be at a club like this and winning at the highest level.”
