Champions League last-16 draw in full

2 min read

Manchester United have been paired with Atletico Madrid and Liverpool will play Inter Milan after today’s redone Champions League draw.

Meanwhile, Man City face Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea are set to play Lille.

However, the standout tie of the last-16 draw is arguably PSG v Real Madrid.

Chelsea will face Lille in the Champions League last-16 after twice avoiding a nightmare tie following a redraw on Monday.

After finishing second in their group, the Blues were at risk of a tough draw against the likes of Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, but appeared to have avoided that eventuality when they were drawn against the Ligue 1 champions in the initial draw.

However, Uefa later ordered a redraw after a technical error saw United’s ball omitted from the draw for a possible tie with Atletico Madrid.

The Blues were the only side to see their tie from the original draw repeated. Manchester United, who earlier had been set to play PSG, will now face Atletico Madrid, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side instead facing Real Madrid.

Real are likely to feel particularly hard done by, having earlier been drawn against Benfica in a tie that was allocated prior to the error which forced the redraw.

Liverpool will take on Inter Milan, meaning another trip to the San Siro, where they beat AC Milan in their final group game last week, while Manchester City face Portuguese side Sporting.
