Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed that he will have news regarding the future of Kylian Mbappe in January.

“In January we will have news from Mbappe. We hope that on January 1 everything can be solved,” the Real president told El Debate.

“We hope that on January 1 everything can be solved.”

Later on Tuesday, however, Perez backtracked slightly to RMC: “My words were misinterpreted. What I said is that we have to wait until next year to hear from you, always with respect for PSG with which we have good relations.”

Mbappe has admitted he is “far” from agreeing to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, after requesting a move away from the French club in July.

Speaking to L’Equipe, the 22-year-old also revealed that his future is not his current priority and the transfer saga he was embroiled in with Real was “draining”.
