Gabriel Jesus Scored at the bridge to see Chelsea lose their first match of the 2021/2022 premier league campaign.
Speaking after the defeat, Tuchel has taken the burden on himself.
“We lacked energy. Jorginho had some problems, Thiago (Silva) cannot start. Maybe it is on me, I didn’t make the best choices today.”
Manchester City dominated possession in the first 45 minutes, with Chelsea struggling to create any chances for their front two of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.
Chelsea started the match with a 3-5-2 formation, but the citizen’s dominance forced the blues to revert to their usual 3-4-3 formation with Kai Havertz replacing Kante in the Second half.
Thomas Tuchel Continued:
“We can debate this endlessly and never have the answers. We decided for 3-5-2 but I don’t think it is a matter of structure. It is about adapting to the opponent to find the spaces.”
Chelsea next match is against Juventus in Turin.
