Eric Garcia has confirmed that he will re-sign for Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.
The Spain international refused Manchester City’s offer of a new deal last year, and he has been expected to return to Catalonia when his contract runs out in June.
Garcia is thought to have penned a five-year deal with Barcelona as he prepares to return to his boyhood club, and the defender has now confirmed the move in a recent interview.
Speaking to L’Esportiu about his imminent move to Catalonia, Garcia said: “I have thought about my future and what I think is best now. I think it’s a brave decision. I am very convinced of the step I have taken.”
The 20-year-old only started three Premier League games for Man City in the 2020-21 campaign, making a further three top-flight appearances as a substitute.
