Benin head coach Michel Dussuyer is upbeat his team can claim a big win against the Super Eagles in Saturday’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.
The Squirrels lost 2-1 to the Super Eagles on matchday one despite putting up a good fight in the game.
Dussuyer’s side have won two and drawn one of their last three games in the qualifiers since the defeat to the Super Eagles in Uyo.
The experienced tactician also have quality players like Jodel Dossou, Steve Mounie and Saturnin Allagbe at his disposal.
Beating the three-time African champions no doubt will be a tough task for Benin, but Dussuyer is adamant it is achievable.
”We have respect for Nigeria but we also have our assets. We will approach the game with a lot of seriousness and determination. We know what we have to do,”the Frenhman told a press conference.
“On Saturday our ambition is to win. It will not be an easy task. We have hopes.”
The game will hold at the Stade Charles de Gaulle, Porto-Novo.
Benin occupy second spot in Group L with seven points from four games and will secure a place in Cameroon 2021 with a win against the Super Eagles.
