Thierry Henry ‘set to be named’ new Bournemouth manager

1 min read

Bournemouth reportedly believe they have convinced Thierry Henry to become their new permanent manager.

Jonathan Woodgate is currently in charge of Bournemouth having taken caretaker charge after Jason Tindall was sacked by the club two weeks ago.

Tindall was given the job after Eddie Howe left the Cherries when they were relegated from the Premier League last season, but with the club in sixth place in the Championship he was shown the door.

Henry, who is currently in charge of MLS side Montreal Impact, is among a list of candidates including Patrick Vieira, John Terry and former Huddersfield boss David Wagner.

The Mirror claims Bournemouth are set to announce Henry as the man to take over at the Vitality Stadium.

The Arsenal legend spent time working under Roberto Martinez for the Belgium national team, before taking over at Monaco in 2018, where he lasted for just 20 games.

The Frenchman was then named boss at Montreal in November 2019, signing a two-year contract.
