Jose Mourinho’s side had a goal disallowed for offside early on. The visitors responded well and their pressure paid off as Roberto Firmino gave them the lead before the break.
Trent Alexander Arnold followed up Sadio Mane’s shot to make it 2-0 early into the second half. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg brought Spurs back into it with a superb strike, but Mane restored Liverpool’s two-goal advantage in the 65th minute.
The Premier League champions move up to fourth with this win and they are four points behind Man City. This defeat leaves Tottenham down in sixth and they are now four points behind Liverpool.
