I don’t know when Aguero will next be available – Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Sergio Aguero missed Man City’s FA Cup tie against Birmingham due to him having to self-isolate.
The striker was expected to start the game against Birmingham, but he did not make their 20-man squad.
Guardiola has since confirmed that Aguero is not injured. He instead missed the game due to him having to self-isolate after coming into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Gabriel Jesus started in the Argentinian’s place. Youngster Liam Delap was brought on for Jesus for the final 15 minutes at the Etihad.
Aguero has only managed to make nine appearances in all competitions this season. His last appearance came as a late substitute in City’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea on January 3.
Guardiola’s men still won comfortably despite being without Aguero. Bernando Silva bagged a quickfire brace before Phil Foden made it 3-0.
Speaking post-match, as cited by Manchester Evening News, Guardiola suggested that there is no set return date for Aguero:
“Unfortunately he was in contact more than usual with one person who is positive. He must isolate for a few days.
“I don’t know exactly [when he will be back] because he has been tested like all of us six times in the last 10-15 days so it is negative.
“Today I think he was negative too but the protocols say in some cases isolate, and in other cases, we still play football. He was not able to play today.”
