Burnley vs Fulham Premier League game called off due to Covid outbreak1 min read
Burnley’s Premier League game with Fulham has been called off due to further Covid positives in the Cottagers’ camp.
The Clarets were due to welcome Scott Parker’s side to Turf Moor on Sunday for their first game of 2021 but the contest has been postponed.
Fulham saw their game with Tottenham in midweek called off and their manager Scott Parker admitted yesterday he was not sure if the Turf Moor game would go ahead.
Reports emerged on Saturday that the contest was to be called off and that news was confirmed at lunchtime.
It means Burnley’s next fixture is the FA Cup third round tie at home to MK Dons on Saturday.
A new date for the Fulham game will need to be found with the Clarets already having a game in hand on most top flight sides following the opening day postponement of their home game with Manchester United. That fixture is now taking place on Tuesday, January 12.
