Liverpool run riot at Selhurst Park, crush Crystal Palace 7-0

1 min read

Liverpool were at their devastating best on Saturday to thrash Crystal Palace 7-0 at Selhurst Park and solidify top spot in the Premier League.

Takumi Minamino scored his first Premier League goal in the third minute with a sharp turn and finish and the Japan international’s opener set the tone for the rest of the match. Sadio Mane doubled Liverpool’s lead in the 35th-minute before Roberto Firmino made it 3-0 just before half time.

Reds captain Jordan Henderson continued the rout seven minutes after the break before Firmino helped himself to his second. Mohamed Salah, introduced after the break after a rare appearance on the substitutes bench, scored Liverpool’s sixth and seventh.

The victory moves Liverpool six points clear at the top of the standings and ensures the defending champions will stay top for another round.
