Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne strikes as Pep wins his 250th match

1 min read

Manchester City coasted to a 2-0 victory over Fulham at the Etihad thanks to first-half goals from Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne.

Scott Parker’s Fulham faced a tough task against Pep Guardiola’s star-studded attack in Manchester, and the game threatened to become a rout as City were two goals up within 26 minutes.

Sterling had already missed one gilt-edged chance before he coolly finished a De Bruyne pass after five minutes, and the England forward was then felled for a penalty which De Bruyne converted 21 minutes later.

But to Fulham’s credit, that was it for City as they squandered a hatful of chances before and after the break – while goalkeeper Alphonse Areola made a string of saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
