Sergio Ramos leads Real Madrid to Classico win

1 min read

Sergio Ramos was once again the hero for Real Madrid as he won and scored the penalty which helped seal a 3-1 El Clasico victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Fede Valverde handed Zinedine Zidane’s Los Blancos a dream start in Barcelona with a fifth-minute opener, but 17-year-old Ansu Fati levelled things up with a well-taken goal three minutes later.

The first half was a thrilling affair as Thibaut Courtois made a fine save from Lionel Messi, but the second half was a more cagey affair.

Ramos has decided plenty of these contests in the past, and he made the difference just past the hour-mark: Clement Lenglet tugged the Real captain’s shirt in the box, and after VAR awarded the penalty, Ramos stepped up to score from the spot.

Barca tried to find a way back into the game as Ronald Koeman made a flurry of late subs, but Luka Modric came off the Real bench to seal the result late on.
