Mourinho revealed in his post-match press conference that Sonny picked up a hamstring injury in the first half and will be out injured for an indefinite amount of time.
“It’s an injury. We’ll have him out for a while. It’s his hamstring,” said Mourinho.
Now, Spurs don’t know the extent of the injury. Maybe it’s just a tweak. Sonny certainly didn’t look like he was hobbling any in the first half. It could be a slight sprain. It could also be something more serious. We’ll just have to wait and see.
It means, however, that Spurs will almost certainly be without its leading scorer for the three matches — the Carabao Cup match vs. Chelsea, the Europa playoff match against Maccabi Haifa, and the trip to Old Trafford at the weekend against Manchester United
