Runar Alex Runarsson is due in London today to finalise his £2m move to Arsenal.
The Gunners have turned to Dijon stopper Runarsson to bolster their goalkeeping department after selling Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa for £20m.
Iceland international Runarsson, 25, underwent a medical in France on Thursday ahead of travelling to the capital to wrap up his switch.
Runarsson will become Arsenal’s latest summer addition after Willian, Gabriel and the returning Dani Ceballos while Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari also had their loan moves made permanent.
Arsenal’s goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana has played a key role in Arsenal’s hunt for a replacement for Martinez and back up to No.1 Bernd Leno.
Cana worked with Runarsson at Danish side FC Nordsjaelland and also Brentford’s David Raya, another goalkeeper Arsenal have targeted.
